As an Electrical Technician reporting to the Maintenance Contracts Manager you’ll be responsible for providing breakdown, preventative maintenance cover and installation work throughout the site across a wide range of plant and equipment, whilst working to current regulations within a continuous improvement environment and adhering to safe working practices.
Working closely with Engineering and Operational teams on day-to-day engineering issues and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation, you’ll undertake new work and installation, current regulations as a benchmark, in addition to helping with the installation/upgrade of plant and equipment. Other accountabilities as an Electrical Technician will include:
•using multi-skilled practices whenever practical
•working within a permit-to-work system
•documenting and collating routine maintenance information and supporting the PPM system
•collating and entering electronically data on plant and equipment.
The successful Electrical Technician will have completed an EITB-recognised four-year craft apprenticeship and be qualified at least to HNC level in electrical engineering, along with having significant post apprenticeship experience. Accustomed to working in hazardous environments and capable of working under pressure, especially when breakdowns arise and production is high, you must be strong on quality and accuracy, with the ability quickly to acquire operating knowledge of processes supported within the plant. Capable of being trained to operate MEWP and FLT, access platforms and various associated machinery, you can also offer:
