Purpose Of The Role
to provide support for the closure of the accounts and the preparation of financial statements for the year-end.
Experience & Skills
Ability to liaise and communicate with senior managers, elected members, professional agencies and members of the public.
Experience of successful year-end reporting, preparing files for auditors and variance analysis.
Work closely with managers in key functions to ensure information flows on a timely basis to meet critical deadlines.
Experience of providing written and verbal advice and guidance on financial matters to budget managers.
Up to date knowledge and experience of financial accounting systems.
Experience of satisfying external auditor’s requirements and compilation of balance sheets.
Ability to work independently and to meet deadlines.
Demonstrable evidence of financial awareness and experience of producing year-end working papers, budget monitors and cash flow statements.
Excellent report writing skills, together with a high level of numeracy and accuracy.
High level of competence using advanced excel (pivot tables and look up), word, email and internet software packages.
Successful candidates will need to have the following experience
Budget monitoring and year-end accounts and be proficient with accounting systems.
You will be required to undertake detailed reconciliations, produce quality working papers and meet key deadlines
