My client are a FTSE 250 business, with annual revenues in excess of £1b and 8,000 people across their group. Over the last two decades, the business has grown to become a market leader with an underpinning commitment to its fundamental values and culture. With a significant programme of investment underway and future growth plans in play, the business wish to recruit a Quality Manager to join their Manufacturing team.
With overall responsibility for the manufacturing quality teams operating across two principle manufacturing sites, the successful candidate will develop quality control and assurance management systems, specifically aimed at raising the level of quality assurance throughout the manufacturing operation. In turn they will manage and motivate individuals, the team and key internal stakeholders to improve the capability of the site(s) to achieve its quality objectives
In this role, the Quality Manager will develop and manage the quality strategy, working in close collaboration with operational leadership and group expectations. In turn they will produce, implement and manage the quality plan to create a strong and pro-active team focussed on achieving the results. The Quality Manager will drive all Embed Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) and further develop the Production Product Approval Process (PPAP) for all new product and significant product and/or process changes. The successful candidate will act as primary link with external assessment bodies, suppliers and partners to develop capability, assessment and development activities.
Degree educated or with equivalent continued professional development, the ideal candidate will have proven experience in a Quality Management role within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Demonstrable expertise in modern manufacturing techniques and recognised quality systems, candidates will bring a proven tool box of skills which should include elements such as Six Sigma, PPAP, FMEA, APQP, design of experiments or SPC.
With strong leadership, from a demanding operational environment the successful candidate will be a skilled communicator, able to engage with people at all levels in an organisation. Experienced in change management, candidates will act of a consistent change leader who develops capability through management, coaching, motivating and guiding individuals towards a common goal.
