An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Family Solicitor 3 years + PQE to join my client’s busy Private Family team based in Wynyard and Stockton On Tees
To provide legal advice, assistance, and a profitable contribution in a broad range of Family matters including:
High-value divorce matters, prenuptial and marital agreements, cohabitation, private child matters and related financial matters.
Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules, for the purposes of TOLATA applications

Main duties and requirements
The fee earner will be expected to undertake the following tasks/have and develop the following skills:
Good working relationships with colleagues with the ability to lead by example to achieve high standards of Client Care and Professional conduct.
Establish excellent relationships with clients and to effectively manage and deliver client expectations.
Manage own caseload efficiently by utilising good time management skills, taking account of cost and chargeable time target.
Efficiently manage and develop support staff to ensure fee earning is spent effectively.
Preparing Instructions/Briefs to Counsel, Trial Bundles and Indexes and updating the same where appropriate.
Attending Court to represent the client, both in relation to their own caseload, but where appropriate in relation to cases belonging to other fee earners.
Drafting Consent Orders, Children Act Applications, Injunction Applications, Divorce Petitions, Financial Statements and Witness Statements.
Promptly bill/process bills on files.
Money Laundering and data protection compliance.
Ensure personal development and CPD is kept up to date, as appropriate.
Attend departmental meetings and promote best practice.
Refer to and comply with the firm’s handbook, policies and procedures and act as a role model in this respect.
apply for professional and panel memberships, as required.
Preferred skills and experience
Thorough working knowledge and experience in private family law to be able to act confidently for a range of clients.
An ability to deal with clients who are going through a difficult time with empathy whilst maintaining a level of professional detachment.
Excellent negotiation skills as well as the ability to make strategic decisions in order to meet the needs of the client.
An ability, enthusiasm and confidence to build own caseload and develop relationships with professional referrers.
An ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
Confidence to work independently whilst adopting good teamwork with other members of the team in the office and based in other offices.
Advocacy skills and confidence at Court as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
An awareness of the current provisions regarding Public Funding to ensure clients are sign posted to the correct service for their needs.
Excellent time management, file management and organisational skills.
Excellent risk management skills, complying with regulatory requirements such as money laundering and data protection.
Remain up to date with changes in the law.
An experience of working with Case Management systems.
Excellent PC/keyboard skills.
