An excellent opportunity for a newly qualified Solicitor to join a well established law firm based in Cardiff.
Ideally the successful candidates will have Banking Finance Property Litigation, Debt or Mortgage experience.
To take initial instructions from clients, to advise (after consultation with the supervising partner as appropriate) on any legal action and all alternatives open to the client, keeping the client informed of progress and costs accruing as required by the department’s or firm’s policies. To open and progress files compliant with the firm’s Quality and Money Laundering procedures and as may be added to or amended from time to time.
To attend all such meetings/conferences with Counsel/court/tribunal/inquest and represent the client as required and to comply with all reasonable requests to work outside normal office hours to give a positive and professional impression of the firmTo meet with line manager(s) on a regular basis to review cases and any other matters relevant to the post holder’s position.
To report to line manager(s) immediately any difficulties are experienced, in particular, those which may lead to a negligence action being taken against the firm and/or a complaint from a client via the Solicitor’s Complaints Bureau and/or the firm’s complaints procedure.

Client interviewing and depending on specialisation, either assisting in the provision of legal advice or giving legal advice
Researching of legal & other topics/issues
Analysis of legal problems, providing interpretation and making recommendations
Examination of documentation
Drafting of legal documentation
Depending on specialism, managing conduct of a number of cases
Banking Finance Property Litigation, Debt or Mortgage experience
