Training & Development Manager Permanent

My client is an industry-leading, multi-site specialty FMCG manufacturer based in Northumberland.  With both manufacturing and whole-sale business units, my client seeks a Training & Development Lead to play a key role in creating a training function for the business, working in close partnership with the HR Director and operational management.

 

Predominantly based from their north Northumberland HQ and with frequent travel to their other sites across the UK the Training & Development Manager will lead on the delivery of training across the whole organisation, involving all skill areas except legal compliance.

 

Main responsibilities

  • Developing the framework to identify the skills needed by occupation, establish viable delivery approaches and identifying appropriate delivery partners.
  • Induction/on-boarding process that puts emphasis on understanding their culture as much as the key skill building blocks to handle their job role.
  • Introduction and management of a process to identify potential internal successors for key management and technical job holders
  • Development programs for those staff to make successful succession more likely.

 

To be considered for the role, it is essential that you are seeking a role with long-term aspirations.  My client need a Training & development Manager who can strategise, deliver and manager an effective training & development suite over the course of the next few years, taking full ownership as subject matter expert.

 

Key selection criteria

  • Demonstrable experience of designing and implementing a training function
  • Ideally experience gained in a manufacturing setting, with experience of working with internal stakeholders of different level of experience and backgrounds
  • Experience of training delivery
  • Strategic and empathetic with excellent communication skills
  • Happy to travel to other client sites, predominantly in East Anglia
